The Chestermere Regional Food Bank Foundation has been in operation since September 2007 and is run by a group of dedicated volunteers.
The Food Bank serves the City of Chestermere and the surrounding rural areas.

FOOD BANK RESPONSE TO COVID-19
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the COVID-19 situation a Global Pandemic. We take this situation very seriously with our top priority being the safety of our staff, volunteers and clients.
In the effort to stem the spread of Covid-19, it is imperative that you read and comply with the following:
- If you are feeling ill, we require you to stay at home until you are feeling better.
- Please take extra precautionary measures during this time.
- If you have flu-like symptoms and need more information or health guidance, call Health Link at 811 for assistance. Do not go to clinics, doctor’s offices or hospitals unless directed by Health Link.
- If you are at the Food Bank, increase your hygiene.
- Sanitize your hands when you enter the building.
- No handshakes. No fist pumps. No hugs.
- Wash your hands properly and frequently (for at least 20 seconds) and use the hand sanitizer provided.
- Sanitize your workspace regularly.
- Avoid touching your face and sneeze/cough into your sleeve.
- If you have been travelling outside Canada, please contact 811 when you return home, even if you have no symptoms.
- Contact our Executive Director and update her on your status.
- You may not return to your duties until you have been medically cleared.
- Monitor your symptoms for cough and fever. If you feel ill after returning, were in a health care facility in an affected country, self isolate yourself and call 811.
- If you or members of your household are planning future travel, whether domestic or international, please advise our Executive Director.
- If this travel proceeds, be prepared for self-isolation upon your return if required.
- You may not return to your duties until you have been medically cleared.

- Increased cleaning throughout the building.
- We continue to communicate and demonstrate best hygiene practices to all.
- We are reviewing client service options to ensure we continue to provide a comfortable hamper pick up experience.
