Jacket Racket @ Chestermere City Hall
Sep 10 @ 9:00 am – Oct 12 @ 4:30 pm

Jacket Racket

The Community Resource Centre partners with local schools, organizations, and businesses each year to collect warm winter wear for local individuals and families as winter approaches.

How it works

  • Collection bins are placed in a variety of locations in Chestermere, Langdon, Indus, and Area from September 10 to October 12
  • Volunteers pick up collection bins mid-October for sorting.
  • Staff and volunteers set-up a store front toward the end of October in Chestermere. This is open to the public to collect warm winter wear for everyone in their household.
  • Donations are then transported to Langdon for distribution, in partnership with Langdon Community Church.

Please call the Community Resource Worker to learn how you can participate or access the program at (403) 207-7081.

Distribution of gently used/new warm winter wear (coats, snowsuits, hats, mitts, scarves, etc.) for children and adults will be available for pick-up at the Chestermere Food Bank (#105, 100 Rainbow Road, Chestermere) on the 2nd level, during the following times:

Mon, Oct. 22: 10am-2pm
Tue, Oct. 23: 10am-2pm
Wed, Oct 24: 2pm-7pm

Christmas With Dignity Kid’s Holiday Store @ Chestermere City Hall
Dec 15 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

About Christmas with Dignity

The Christmas with Dignity (CWD) fund helps local individuals and families to meet their basic needs all year long. Although ‘Christmas’ is in the name and the majority of the funds are used during the holiday season, donations can be accessed at any time throughout the year when families in the community need assistance.

Children’s Holiday Store

Chestermere residents can take their kids to Chestermere City Hall to get a hand picking out Christmas gifts for their family members while supporting a good cause.

The 9th annual Kids’ Holiday Store will take place on December 15 and the funds raised will be donated to the Christmas with Dignity program.

The Kids’ Holiday Store will include musical entertainment and a Christmas with Dignity café where guests can purchase a warm drink or snack, with proceeds going to the Christmas with Dignity program.

Kids will be matched with an elf who will help them choose and wrap their presents. Each gift is $5.00 and the proceeds go directly into the fund.

Donations of items for the store can be made at City Hall.
